LOS
ANGELES,
Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- In front of hundreds of entertainment industry
luminaries, the first time author and Hollywood insider, unveiled
her 'how-to' media survival guide; INTERVIEW TACTICS. HOW TO SURVIVE
THE MEDIA WITHOUT GETTING CLOBBERED. THE INSIDER'S GUIDE TO GIVING
A KILLER INTERVIEW. Murphy described her freshmen effort as a 'must
have' for anyone even thinking about doing press. She calls INTERVIEW
TACTICS "The only insider's media-bible that offers the kind
of interview tactics and media 'power tools' that anyone can use
to one-on-one with the press ... and not get clobbered in the process!"
Over
the course of Murphy's career, she has worked for some of the most
well respected news organizations -- including ABC News, the BBC
and AP Radio --- and has interviewed hundreds of the biggest celebrities
and 'movers and shakers' in the world. She concludes that when it
comes to doing press, "Being interviewed isn't easy and not
everyone is good at it. But with the kind of insider advice and
media know-how I've laid out INTERVIEW TACTICS, even the most media-shy
among us can survive and flourish in a room full of microphones."
She
maintains, "With the extension of the Hollywood brand and the
proliferation of media, it seems like everyone is being booked for
interviews these days. And that's not exclusive to Hollywood types
either; it's authors, inventors, life-style gurus, celebrity chefs,
financial advisors, designers, decorators, lawyers, scientists and
do-it-yourselfers. All of which I call, 'The Experts Next Door.'
And if they can't tell it, they can't sell it."
INTERVIEW
TACTICS reveals the biggest challenges to being interviewed -- Mastering
the art of meeting the press. What a reporter wants and how to give
it to them. What soundbites are and why they're important. The different
kinds of media. Press conferences, roundtables and the Red Carpet.
In
addition to publishing INTERVIEW TACTICS and launching its website
InterviewTactics.com, Murphy launched GaylMurphy.com earlier this
year which chronicles her peripatetic broadcasting career in Hollywood,
in addition to celebrity news, audio soundbites, vintage photographs
and rock 'n' roll memorabilia, a free INTERVIEW TACTICS report and
details about her INTERVIEW TACTICS seminars and one-on-one coaching.
